Our Massal collection is created in the Gilan province of Northern Iran and is named after one of the small villages there. These rugs are handmade using weaving techniques from three different areas in Northern iran: Kordi, Gilaki and Azeri Turki, traditionally used for blankets and heavy warm clothing for the shepherds. Massal rugs are woven on small narrow looms and sewed together to create the desired size.
Woven using hand-spun pure new wool and natural vegetable dyes
